Social conformity/Norm Violation

Tattoos have often been a thing that society just isn't ready to accept. The sight of tattoos brings the stereotype of uncleanliness, AIDS an individual within the wrong side of town or getting someone who were to prison. So the perfect way to test the norms of society and how they react to something deviant was to put over a fake tattoo. To generate items much more interesting, the fake tattoo was placed on a left side of my face. And I did not merely walk for the neighborhood. I made sure that significantly folks saw me and so I went towards the movies with my buddies over a Friday night.

It was sort of dark within the parking lot and so there was not much reaction inside people who had been either obtaining out of or heading back to their cars . But the moment I entered the mall to go the cinemas, I seen folks staring at me. Even if I was wearing regular clothes - a crew neck shirt , jeans and tennis shoes - the men and women still looked at me During the corner of my eye, I could see people huddling and whispering though looking at me. I knew incredibly well that they were seeking at me Issues got worse as soon as I seen parents veering themselves and their kids from my path.

As if the staring was not sufficient, as soon as we got towards movie household nobody wanted to sit beside me and my close friends even if my close friends did not have any tattoos at all. I tried tough to concentrate on the movie but I couldn 't. I was starting to consider as if the tattoo on my face was actual and I started feeling so bad. It was not as if the design was some gang symbol. In reality, I personally picked the type - a tribal type that translates to freedom - which was actually beautiful art. I could not understand why individuals would avoid me instead of asking me why I had a tattoo on my face or what it truly meant.

By the end of the night, whilst I was removing the sharpie-tattoo from my face, the entire physical exercise was an enlightenment for me, and not so a lot for this that I am writing. Any sign of difference or deviation in the norm is unacceptable or at least significantly frowned upon. I did not expect the persons being friendly with me but neither did I expect that they would take into account me with this kind of disgust. I have searched the internet about tattoos and found out that it is not only individuals who had been or are in prison that have tattoos. In fact quite a few folks get tattoos due to the fact they feel incredibly spiritual with them or mainly because anything significant happened to them.

Tattoo is often a form of art for many persons. A lot more importantly, if persons would try to realize the meaning behind the tattoos, these art truly carry heartfelt stories. It took a lengthy time before pierced...
