But what about those among this population who swot up the odds, make the most of college, and achieve in multiple ways inside and outside of the classroom? Who are they, and what can they inform us?

ULLEN AND KEELY are two recent college graduates who go to different universities but made similar choices regarding the allocation of their out-ofclass era and consequently came to enjoy

Affairs; a new student orientation course leader; and the student representative on several university committees. In addition to having earned more than $50,000 in merit-based scholarships, Cullen received many awards and honors for his achievements, including the universitys Board of Trustees Award.The 2002 Barry M.
