You regulate them standing by the side or back doorway when you pull into the parking lot. Some are just conversing succession others are smoking and sipping coffee. They act just like each normal group of people seen outside a mall, school day or town building. However these people meet casual in church basements as a ritual for excerption as they battle their demons. It is almost time for today’s Narcotics Anonymous meeting to begin.
I’m riding shotgun with my close friend Ethan at the wheel. His eighteen year erstwhile(a) daughter April is in the back seat contemplating a local anaesthetic judge’s decision to sentence her to attending cardinal Narcotics Anonymous meetings a week for three months. Recently April was a passenger in a car driven by a suspected drunk driver.
Along with alcohol in the car, April was found in possession of oxycodone, a drug she didn’t look at a prescription for.
Ethan has recently buried a nephew, dead from an overdose of prescription pills. The oldest boy of his single mama’s sister, Frank, Ethan’s nephew, never knew his father and Ethan was the closest aim model he had. I piece of ass relate to how Ethan must feel; for in the past two years, I bedevil been to eight wakes and funerals of people I have known who have died from the abuse of prescription drugs. Tonight I am with Ethan and April as a show of support for both as they attack to address this issue and also for myself to find out wherefore so many people are in headache and dying.
