Julius Caesar: Antony's Funeral Speech

In the play Julius Caesar by willingiam Shakespe ar, rhetorical devices are employ to persuade the audience. However, the most influential and powerful rhetorical strategies were use in Antonys funeral deliverance. Antony ultimately won the crowds hearts by the rhetorical devices in his speech and the accent he placed on them. The rhetorical strategies that were most persuading were hysteron proteron, business to the great deal, and aposiopesis.
A rhetorical device that Antony used in his speech was aposiopesis. An aposiopesis is a form of ellipse by which a verbalizer pass offs to an abrupt halt, seemingly overcome by emotion.
